The Vikla Golf and Country Club was founded in 1992, designed by Robin Houry. It is situated near the village of Vikla in Cyprus, close to Larnaca and a 20km drive from Limassol. For €34 you can play all day, and this price includes club hire, balls, tees and water.

This golf club is one of the more relaxed in Cyprus and prides itself on customer service; the dress code here is casual and a handicap certificate is not required.

The clubhouse at the Vikla Golf and Country Club has an excellent standard of drinks and bar snacks to offer at affordable prices, and, for those who are not golfers, there is a swimming pool and outside terrace overlooking the green to enjoy. The pro shop has clubs and trolleys available to hire and an excellent selection of golfing equipment for sale.

Directions:

From Motorway Junction 21, (Parekklisia turn off) head north into the hills.
Stay on this road for around 20 kms until you reach the Village of Kellaki which you’ll find just over the top of the hill after a long ascent.

As you enter the village (you should have come down past a football field on your left) you need to take a sharp right up a hill.

From this point on you need to follow signs for “Klonari” and “Vikla”. The road goes round to the left and as you leave the built up area there is a right turn sign posted “Klonari” and “Vikla”.

Keep going for 5 km until you reach the little village of Klonari where you should see signs for “VIKLA GOLF”.
At this point, as you leave the tarmac and do the last stretch on un-surfaced road, you’re probably doubting there could possibly be a golf course in this scenic yet remote location. Keep going!
